hurricane.<\/p>\n<p>September\u2019s devastating Hurricane Helene did major damage to a number of roadways, including I-40 and I-26 at the North Carolina and Tennessee border.<\/p>\n<figure href=\"https:\/\/cdllife.com\/2024\/hurricane-closures-sending-hundreds-of-truckers-off-i-40-and-i-26-through-small-north-carolina-town-firefighters-say\/\">truckers have been pushed off these shuttered interstates onto smaller highways and state routes as they seek to deliver freight<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>NCDOT recently shared official Hurricane Helene routing information specifically for the trucking community.<\/p>\n<p>Officials are asking truckers to use this routing information instead of Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps in the affected areas because \u201cthese apps are giving routes
