Canadian police charged a man after an accident involving livestock that occurred in Ontario on Friday.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred around 7 a.m. on October 18 on Highway 401 near Kingston, Ontario.<\/p>\n

A 25 year old Montreal man was using a passenger vehicle to haul a homemade trailer loaded with dairy calves when the trailer failed, police say.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe trailer was not sufficient to haul a load of cattle and broke apart,\u201d Ontario Provincial Police said.<\/p>\n

The animals spilled out onto Highway 401, suffering minor injuries. The calves received veterinary treatment at the scene.<\/p>\n

A secondary crash involving two semi trucks occurred in the aftermath of the cattle spill.<\/p>\n

The 25 year old Montreal driver was charged with operating an unsafe vehicle, failing to surrender his driver\u2019s license and for driving a trailer with no plate, according to CTV News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Police say the calves were seized by the the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA)\u00a0as part of an ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
