{"id":16545,"date":"2024-11-20T10:29:07","date_gmt":"2024-11-20T10:29:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pro-truckdrivers.com\/blog\/11k-drivers-pulled-over-during-cvsas-operation-safe-driver-week-blitz\/"},"modified":"2024-11-20T10:29:07","modified_gmt":"2024-11-20T10:29:07","slug":"11k-drivers-pulled-over-during-cvsas-operation-safe-driver-week-blitz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pro-truckdrivers.com\/blog\/11k-drivers-pulled-over-during-cvsas-operation-safe-driver-week-blitz\/","title":{"rendered":"11K drivers pulled over during CVSA&#8217;s Operation Safe Driver Week blitz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_84\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) released results from this year\u2019s Operation Safe Driver Week traffic enforcement operation.<\/p>\n<p>Operation Safe Driver Week took place in North America from July 7 to 13, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>During the week-long effort, law enforcement officers were on the lookout for dangerous driving behaviors performed by both passenger and commercial vehicle drivers in an effort to reduce crashes.<\/p>\n<p>The area of emphasis for Operation Safe Driver Week 2024 was Reckless\/careless\/dangerous driving, which is defined as operating a vehicle without due care and attention or reasonable consideration for other motorists or people on the road.<\/p>\n<p>See below for highlights of the Operation Safe Driver Week campaign.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Officers pulled over 11,050 passenger and commercial vehicles in the U.S. and Canada.<\/li>\n<li>2,712 tickets\/citations and 3,228 warnings were issued to commercial motor vehicle and passenger vehicle drivers\u00a0for various violations.<\/li>\n<li>2,439 warnings and 1,583 tickets\/citations were issued to commercial motor vehicle drivers.<\/li>\n<li>789 warnings and 1,129 tickets\/citations were issued to passenger vehicle drivers.<\/li>\n<li>A total of 1,694 warnings and 1,226 citations\/tickets were issued for speeding.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Commercial motor vehicle drivers received 1,221 warnings and 502 tickets\/citations for speed violations<\/li>\n<li>Passenger vehicle drivers received 473 warnings and 724 citations\/tickets for speed violations.<\/li>\n<li>A total of 354 warnings and 554 tickets\/citations were issued for failure to wear a seatbelt.<\/li>\n<li>Commercial motor vehicle drivers received 328 warnings and 473 tickets\/citations for not wearing their seat belt.<\/li>\n<li>Passenger vehicle drivers received 26 warnings and 81 tickets\/citations for failure to wear a seat belt.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cdllife.com\/2024\/cvsa-releases-commercial-vehicle-blitz-schedule-for-2025\/\">To view the dates for 2025\u2019s CVSA enforcement efforts, including Operation Safe Driver Week, please click here. <\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/cdllife.com\/2024\/11k-drivers-pulled-over-during-cvsas-operation-safe-driver-week-blitz\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) released results from this year\u2019s Operation Safe Driver Week traffic enforcement operation.
