{"id":16568,"date":"2024-11-21T03:05:19","date_gmt":"2024-11-21T03:05:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pro-truckdrivers.com\/blog\/penndot-announces-commercial-vehicle-travel-restrictions-due-to-winter-weather\/"},"modified":"2024-11-21T03:05:19","modified_gmt":"2024-11-21T03:05:19","slug":"penndot-announces-commercial-vehicle-travel-restrictions-due-to-winter-weather","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pro-truckdrivers.com\/blog\/penndot-announces-commercial-vehicle-travel-restrictions-due-to-winter-weather\/","title":{"rendered":"PennDOT announces commercial vehicle travel restrictions due to winter weather"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_84\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will enact commercial vehicle travel restrictions ahead of anticipated winter weather\u00a0on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.penndot.pa.gov\/pages\/all-news-details.aspx?newsid=1182\">Starting at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, PennDOT will place Tier 1 travel restrictions on the following roadways<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I-81 north of I-380<\/li>\n<li>I-84, entire length<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The following vehicle types are not allowed during Tier 1 travel restrictions:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tractors without trailers<\/li>\n<li>Tractors towing unloaded or lightly loaded enclosed trailers, open trailers or tank trailers<\/li>\n<li>Tractors towing unloaded or lightly loaded tandem trailers<\/li>\n<li>Enclosed unloaded or lightly loaded cargo delivery trucks\/box trucks that meet the definition of a CMV<\/li>\n<li>Passenger vehicles (cars, SUV\u2019s, pickup trucks, etc.) towing trailers<\/li>\n<li>Recreational vehicles\/motorhomes<\/li>\n<li>School buses, commercial buses and motor coaches<\/li>\n<li>Motorcycles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cOn roadways where vehicles are not restricted, commercial vehicle drivers in particular are encouraged to exercise caution in high winds.
