However, CalTrans Public Information Officer Chris Woodward says that drivers being stuck down near Fawndale in the valley was as close to an ideal situation as possible, as there are amenities in the area so they can take care of themselves.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Truckers stranded as bomb cyclone plugs up I-5\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9qnEwMVRLCI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cFawndale is a great place for our closure northbound because it keeps them in the valley,\u201d Woodward said to <a href=\"https:\/\/krcrtv.com\/news\/local\/truckers-stranded-as-bomb-cyclone-plugs-up-i-5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ABC 7<\/a>. \u201cClose to amenities, so your hotels your food and if you continue going north those run out pretty quickly \u201c<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur staff, CHP, they work long shifts to try to keep our highways open and safe as possible,\u201d Woodward continued. \u201cWe don\u2019t close just for fun, we close for the safety of everyone.
