Louisiana firefighters responded to an accident involving a semi truck hauling pipes in St. Tammany Parish on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 11<\/strong><\/a> responded to I-59 southbound at mile marker 5 for a semi truck incident involving a significant oil leak.<\/p>\n

The truck driver involved told firefighters that he had to stop abruptly to avoid another vehicle.<\/p>\n

As a result of the sudden braking, \u201cthree solid pipes shifted, going through the cab into the engine, barely missing the driver\u2019s legs.\u201d<\/p>\n

As of 1:55 p.m., firefighters say that the truck has been cleared and that the right lane of I-59 is reopening.<\/p>\n
