{"id":16886,"date":"2024-12-04T01:47:08","date_gmt":"2024-12-04T01:47:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pro-truckdrivers.com\/blog\/nevada-troopers-to-send-geo-targeted-messages-directly-to-truckers-through-elds\/"},"modified":"2024-12-04T01:47:08","modified_gmt":"2024-12-04T01:47:08","slug":"nevada-troopers-to-send-geo-targeted-messages-directly-to-truckers-through-elds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pro-truckdrivers.com\/blog\/nevada-troopers-to-send-geo-targeted-messages-directly-to-truckers-through-elds\/","title":{"rendered":"Nevada troopers to send geo-targeted messages directly to truckers through ELDs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_84\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>The Nevada Highway Patrol<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(NHP) announced a new program to deliver real-time alerts directly to commercial vehicle drivers through their Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs).<\/p>\n<p>On December 3, 2024, NHP announced the launch of a new program in partnership with Drivewyze to send targeted alerts directly to ELD devices, using geo-fencing technology\u00a0to provide location-specific information.<\/p>\n<p>Officials say that they will use the new system to provide truckers with updates on dangerous weather, chain requirements, high wind warnings, construction zone information, and traffic hazards, \u201cin bold, high-visibility formats on drivers\u2019 ELDs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Troopers say that the ELD alert system could be especially useful during the winter months in places like Reno, Carson City, and Tahoe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNevada\u2019s diverse terrain and challenging driving conditions, coupled with our position as a major transportation corridor, make initiatives like this essential,\u201d said Nevada Highway Patrol Lieutenant Tappan Cornmesser. \u201cWith increased truck traffic and vital interstates running coast-to-coast, these real-time messages will help prevent crashes and improve safety for all drivers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re proud to be at the forefront of using technology to improve highway safety,\u201d said Cornmesser. \u201cIt takes just one jackknifed truck to shut down an interstate.
