{"id":16914,"date":"2024-12-05T01:00:59","date_gmt":"2024-12-05T01:00:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pro-truckdrivers.com\/blog\/arizona-man-who-recruited-truck-drivers-to-transport-drugs-sentenced-to-prison\/"},"modified":"2024-12-05T01:00:59","modified_gmt":"2024-12-05T01:00:59","slug":"arizona-man-who-recruited-truck-drivers-to-transport-drugs-sentenced-to-prison","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pro-truckdrivers.com\/blog\/arizona-man-who-recruited-truck-drivers-to-transport-drugs-sentenced-to-prison\/","title":{"rendered":"Arizona man who recruited truck drivers to transport drugs sentenced to prison"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_84\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>An Arizona-based drug trafficker was sentenced to more than a decade in prison, according to federal officials.<\/p>\n<p>On December 3, 2024,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dea.gov\/press-releases\/2024\/12\/03\/head-drug-trafficking-organization-sentenced-14-years-prison\"> the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) announced<\/a> that Avondale resident Heriberto Lopez-Landeros, 44, was sentenced to 14 years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>In August 2024, Lopez-Landeros pleaded guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine.<\/p>\n<p>According to the DEA, Lopez-Landeros was the head of a drug trafficking organization that brought large quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and heroin from Mexico to locations all across the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>In order to transport the drugs, Lopez-Landeros recruited semi truck drivers to participate in the trafficking operation, with many of them transporting drugs in the cab of their trucks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring a year-and-a-half long investigation, investigators were able to seize several large loads of drugs connected with Lopez-Landeros, including 83 kilograms of methamphetamine, 12 kilograms of fentanyl, and 645 grams of heroin,\u201d officials said.<\/p>\n<p>The case agaisnt Lopez-Landeros was investigated by the DEA, Homeland Security Investigations, the Arizona Department of Public Safety, and the Avondale Police Department.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/cdllife.com\/2024\/arizona-man-who-recruited-truck-drivers-to-transport-drugs-sentenced-to-prison\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An Arizona-based drug trafficker was sentenced to more than a decade in prison, according to federal officials.
