{"id":17089,"date":"2024-12-11T22:43:57","date_gmt":"2024-12-11T22:43:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pro-truckdrivers.com\/blog\/fmcsa-knocks-four-elds-off-list-of-approved-devices\/"},"modified":"2024-12-11T22:43:57","modified_gmt":"2024-12-11T22:43:57","slug":"fmcsa-knocks-four-elds-off-list-of-approved-devices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pro-truckdrivers.com\/blog\/fmcsa-knocks-four-elds-off-list-of-approved-devices\/","title":{"rendered":"FMCSA knocks four ELDs off list of approved devices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_84\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>On Wednesday, the \u00a0Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) removed four electronic logging devices, or ELDs, from the agency\u2019s list of approved devices.<\/p>\n<p>Effective December 11, 2024, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fmcsa.dot.gov\/newsroom\/fmcsa-removes-four-devices-list-registered-elds-1\">the following ELDs have been removed from FMCSA\u2019s list of approved devices<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>COLUMBUS ELD: Model Number \u2014 C-US<\/li>\n<li>MasterELD: Model Number \u2014 MELD02<\/li>\n<li>MasterELD: Model Number \u2014 MELD03<\/li>\n<li>MasterELD: Model Number \u2014 MELD04<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Carriers using one of these devices should:<\/p>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Discontinue using the revoked ELDs and revert to paper logs or logging software to record required hours of service data.<\/li>\n<li>Replace the revoked ELDs with compliant ELDs from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/eld.fmcsa.dot.gov\/List\">Registered Devices list<\/a>\u00a0before February 9, 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Motor carriers have a 60 day period to replace the revoked ELDs with an approved device. During that time, law enforcement and safety officials are encouraged not to cite drivers.<\/p>\n<p>Starting on February 9, 2025, motor carriers who continue to use one of the revoked devices are considered to be operating without an ELD.
