The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is asking drivers to remain alert behind the wheel after a car was dragged down the highway following a distracted driving crash.<\/p>\n

CHP \u2013 Merced<\/a><\/strong> said on December 13 that the crash occurred on southbound State Route 99 near Atwater.<\/p>\n

Troopers say that a motorist struck the rear of a semi truck \u201cbecause the driver was texting while driving.\u201d<\/p>\n

After the crash the car \u201cbecame lodged, and was dragged to the next exit.\u201d<\/p>\n

No serious injuries were reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cTexting while driving is a dangerous distraction that takes your hands off the wheel, your eyes off the road, and your mind off driving. It only takes a second for everything to change.
