A truck driver from Alabama says he has a new perspective on life after surviving a massive heart attack while driving on Christmas Eve.\u00a0<\/p>\n
38-year-old William Brown, of Alabama, was hauling a load of highly flammable materials to New Jersey on Christmas Eve when he started to feel that something was wrong with him.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cMy hands went numb first, then it started traveling up my arms, and then my chest. It felt like an asphalt truck was over the top of me and asphalt was being poured on top of me,\u201d he said. Because heart conditions run in his family, Brown called 911. \u201cI told them I am not 100 percent certain, but I think I am having a heart attack at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n
Brown was taken to an emergency room, where it was discovered he had a 100% blockage to his heart.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was aware enough with the symptoms to come in appropriate\/ early time. He arrested more than once where he needed to be defibrillated,\u201d said Dr. Phillip Painley to WPXI News<\/a>.<\/p>\n Doctors were able to save Brown and get him to a stable condition, giving Brown an opportunity for a new perspective on life.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s the greatest feeling knowing that I was flatlined less than two days ago, and I am still here now. It\u2019s going to make me put things into perspective and cherish a lot more,\u201d Brown said. \u201cGod works for the betterment of us even when we don\u2019t realize it, he is still working for us.\u201d<\/p>\n Doctors say that Brown will likely be able to head home to Alabama this weekend, where he can reunite with his nine children.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
