popular West Virginia Turnpike travel plaza reopened to the public after it was shut down for several months for upgrades.<\/p>\n<p>On December 30, <a href=\"https:\/\/governor.wv.gov\/News\/Pages\/Gov.-Justice,-WV-Parkways-Authority-celebrate-grand-opening-of-Beckley-Travel-Plaza.aspx\">West Virginia Governor Jim Justice announced<\/a> the reopening of the Beckley Travel Plaza located along the West Virginia Turnpike.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" Travel Plaza\u00a0was closed in early August 2024 for demolition and renovation to allow for upgrades and expansion of truck parking facilities.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img thirty-five truck parking spaces would added to the Beckley facility, bringing the total number of truck parking spaces to 165.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Starbucks, Wendy\u2019s, Popeye\u2019s, and Mountain State Market restaurants, which will run 24\/7<\/li>\n<li>Increased restroom facilities<\/li>\n<li>EV charging stations<\/li>\n<li>A drive-through<\/li>\n<li>Separated vehicle and tractor-trailer fueling options<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m truly blown away by how this plaza has turned out\u2014it\u2019s even more than we imagined,\u201d Gov. Justice said. \u201cA few years ago, no one would\u2019ve dreamed West Virginia would be featured in top travel guides or become a top tourist destination. Now, people from all over the world are coming to experience Almost Heaven. We needed to update our travel plazas to match the excitement and energy of our visitors, and that\u2019s exactly what we\u2019ve done. This isn\u2019t just a pit stop; it\u2019s our opportunity to show off the beauty and spirit of West Virginia. This plaza represents everything that\u2019s happening in our state\u2014growth, opportunity, and pride.
