{"id":17808,"date":"2025-01-09T10:46:27","date_gmt":"2025-01-09T10:46:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pro-truckdrivers.com\/blog\/fmcsa-kicks-six-elds-off-list-of-approved-devices-carriers-have-60-days-to-replace\/"},"modified":"2025-01-09T10:46:27","modified_gmt":"2025-01-09T10:46:27","slug":"fmcsa-kicks-six-elds-off-list-of-approved-devices-carriers-have-60-days-to-replace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pro-truckdrivers.com\/blog\/fmcsa-kicks-six-elds-off-list-of-approved-devices-carriers-have-60-days-to-replace\/","title":{"rendered":"FMCSA kicks six ELDs off list of approved devices, carriers have 60 days to replace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_84\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>The clock is ticking for carriers as the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) removed six electronic logging devices, or ELDs, from the agency\u2019s list of approved devices.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fmcsa.dot.gov\/newsroom\/fmcsa-removes-six-devices-list-registered-elds?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR0ljc7qW9mpxV9kXcatffBo2SwhaLqRBeT0R5PlXYNCQQMgUuAa-m7oUa4_aem_iiwDu2zOsucCT4XC2nNrEA\">On January 8, the FMCSA added the following six ELDs to the agency\u2019s list of Revoked Devices<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>BLUE STAR ELD<\/li>\n<li>ROAD STAR SOLUTIONS<\/li>\n<li>United Eld<\/li>\n<li>Speed ELD<\/li>\n<li>Two TrackEnsure ELD models<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The FMCSA revoked approval from these six ELDs for failure to meet minimum requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Carriers using a revoked devices have 60 days to replace the revoked ELD with an approved device. During that time, carriers should discontinue using the revoked ELDs, and revert to paper logs or logging software to record required hours of service data.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to March 9, 2025, law enforcement officials are asked not to issue citations for \u201cNo record of duty status\u201d or \u201cFailing to use a registered ELD.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After March 9, 2025, the FMCSA instructs safety officials who encounter a driver using a revoked device on or after March 9, 2025 to issue a citation for \u201cNo record of duty status,\u201d and to place the driver out-of-service.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFMCSA strongly encourages motor carriers to take the actions listed above now to avoid compliance issues in the event that the deficiencies are not addressed by the ELD providers,\u201d the agency advised.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, the FMCSA removed an<a href=\"https:\/\/cdllife.com\/2024\/fmcsa-knocks-four-elds-off-list-of-approved-devices\/\"> additional six ELDs<\/a> from the list of approved devices.
