{"id":17929,"date":"2025-01-14T11:11:56","date_gmt":"2025-01-14T11:11:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pro-truckdrivers.com\/blog\/21-2-million-in-meth-seized-from-semi-truck-hauling-tomatillos\/"},"modified":"2025-01-14T11:11:56","modified_gmt":"2025-01-14T11:11:56","slug":"21-2-million-in-meth-seized-from-semi-truck-hauling-tomatillos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pro-truckdrivers.com\/blog\/21-2-million-in-meth-seized-from-semi-truck-hauling-tomatillos\/","title":{"rendered":"$21.2 million in meth seized from semi truck hauling tomatillos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_84\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seized more than a ton of methamphetamine from a load of produced at a border crossing in Texas.<\/p>\n<p>The drug seizure took place on January 8 at the \u00a0Pharr International Bridge cargo facility located in Pharr, Texas.<\/p>\n<p>A semi truck hauling a shipment manifested as tomatillos approached the facility from Mexico, seeking entry into the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>The truck was chosen for inspection by non-intrusive inspection\u00a0equipment and a canine unit.<\/p>\n<p>During a physical search of the tractor trailer, officers uncovered 398 packages of alleged methamphetamine weighing nearly 2,379 pounds hidden on the trailer.<\/p>\n<p>The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $21.2 million.<\/p>\n<p>The semi truck and drugs were seized by CBP.
