The Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT) is asking drivers to plan ahead for long-term rest area closures along I-70 in the Boonville area.<\/p>\n

MODOT will close the rest areas on I-70 at mile marker 104 near Boonville in Cooper County to allow for renovations.<\/p>\n

The westbound I-70 rest area will close at 6 a.m. on January 21. The eastbound I-70 rest area is scheduled for closure in early February 2025.<\/p>\n

During the closure, car parking and the buildings will be closed. Truck parking will remain open, but drivers will not have access to any facilities.<\/p>\n

Planned rest area upgrades include expansion to include an interior vestibule, family restroom, and vending area.<\/p>\n

Work on the rest areas is expected to be complete by spring 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
