An unusual winter storm in Houston caused a wreck involving four semi trucks on black ice on Tuesday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The incident happened at about 3:30 a.m. on January 21st on Interstate 69 the Southwest Freeway northbound at FM 762 in Richmond, Texas just outside of Houston.<\/p>\n

According to CW 39<\/a>, the snowfall and black ice caused one tractor trailer to overturn. A second semi truck then jacknifed trying to avoid the first and was soon side swiped by a third tractor trailer, ripping open the jacknifed rig. A fourth semi truck was also involved and sustained damage to its trailer.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Two truck drivers were taken to a hospital with non life threatening injuries. Cleanup of the incident was extensive as crews worked to clear the debris and wrecked rigs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Snow and ice are expected to remain in the ares through Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
