U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)\u00a0recently seized more than 1000 gas engines at a Minneapolis, Minnesota, border crossing.<\/p>\n

The seizure took place on January 23, 2025, at the Minneapolis-St. Paul\u2019s Express Consignment Facility.<\/p>\n

CBP officers intercepted 42 pallets containing a total of 1,134 \u201cfraudulent gas engines\u201d originating from China.<\/p>\n

Officials say that each pallet contained 27 gas engines. The engines were en route to various business locations in the U.S.<\/p>\n

The appraised value of the seized gas engines is $1.34 million.<\/p>\n

The gas engines were seized and handed over to U.S. Homeland Security Investigations because they did not have proper documentation, CBP said in a news release<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m extremely proud of the diligent and professional work of CBP officers and import specialists who applied their keen knowledge and expertise to effectively target, identify and hold these suspicious shipments,\u201d said LaFonda D. Sutton Burke, Director, Field Operations, Chicago Field Office. \u201cThis is an unusual seizure, but a critically important one, and our officers once again show how their training and skill enables CBP to be a strong frontline of defense against faulty goods that can endanger the lives of innocent citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
