The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is asking truckers to take extra care securing their vehicles when parking following a driver\u2019s misadventure in Simi Valley this week.<\/p>\n
The incident began around 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 28, at SR-118 westbound west of Erringer Road in Simi Valley, California.<\/p>\n
According to VC Star<\/a>, a truck driver attempted to park in a dirt lot between Simi Town Center Way and SR-118, but when he unhooked the trailer, the cab of the truck plummeted into a ditch and came to a stop suspended in the air, wedged between some trees and a retaining wall.<\/p>\n No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n The truck driver and company attempted to recover the stuck truck for about an hour, but when their attempts were unsuccessful, they contacted the Simi Valley Police Department, who in turn contacted CHP.<\/p>\n Two heavy duty tow trucks were brought in to help recover the truck from the ditch.<\/p>\n CHP\u2019s Moorpark Division issued a reminder to the truckers following the accident:<\/p>\n \u201cThis incredible parking job is the result of the driver not securing the tractor before unhooking the trailer.
