{"id":18425,"date":"2025-02-03T21:27:25","date_gmt":"2025-02-03T21:27:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pro-truckdrivers.com\/blog\/truck-driver-faces-attempted-murder-charge-for-i-80-big-rig-shooting\/"},"modified":"2025-02-03T21:27:25","modified_gmt":"2025-02-03T21:27:25","slug":"truck-driver-faces-attempted-murder-charge-for-i-80-big-rig-shooting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pro-truckdrivers.com\/blog\/truck-driver-faces-attempted-murder-charge-for-i-80-big-rig-shooting\/","title":{"rendered":"Truck driver faces attempted murder charge for I-80 big rig shooting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_84\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>Police arrested and charged a semi truck driver following a road rage shooting involving a fellow truck driver in Newton, Iowa, on Sunday night.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after 7 p.m. on February 2, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newtongov.org\/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=1994&amp;fbclid=IwY2xjawIN8U9leHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHeSIPH42QgBeqUTCRQZD_acdm157-cxHuJ-AGe1EZudjS3rMmG8WHz2jUg_aem_x0vYr90DoAgkOj4HxN9Lzw\">Newton Police Department (NPD) responded <\/a>to reports of a shooting on I-80 as part of a road rage incident.<\/p>\n<p>Police said that the driver of a blue Peterbilt semi pulling a white grain trailer fired several rounds at a second semi truck that was attempting to pass him on I-80 near mile marker 164.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the second semi truck was not injured and was able to pull off at a Love\u2019s in Newton and call police.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the blue Peterbilt did not stop but continued eastbound on I-80.<\/p>\n<p>At 7:36, deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff\u2019s Office located the blue Peterbilt parked on the off-ramp at the 179-mile marker exit off I-80.<\/p>\n<p>The driver, Iowa resident Patrick Lee Miller, 56, was arrested.<\/p>\n<p>After a search warrant was executed on the blue Peterbilt, officers discovered a handgun and multiple spent shell casings.<\/p>\n<p>Miller was issued the following charges:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Attempted Murder (Class B Felony)<\/li>\n<li>Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon (Class C Felony)<\/li>\n<li>Going Armed with Intent (Class D Felony)<\/li>\n<li>Reckless Use of a Firearm (Aggravated Misdemeanor)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/cdllife.com\/2025\/truck-driver-faces-attempted-murder-charge-for-i-80-big-rig-shooting\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Police arrested and charged a semi truck driver following a road rage shooting involving a fellow truck driver in Newton, Iowa, on Sunday night.
