{"id":18564,"date":"2025-02-09T00:20:32","date_gmt":"2025-02-09T00:20:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pro-truckdrivers.com\/blog\/mixed-narcotics-worth-over-19-million-seized-from-semi-truck-hauling-cucumbers-and-jalapenos\/"},"modified":"2025-02-09T00:20:32","modified_gmt":"2025-02-09T00:20:32","slug":"mixed-narcotics-worth-over-19-million-seized-from-semi-truck-hauling-cucumbers-and-jalapenos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pro-truckdrivers.com\/blog\/mixed-narcotics-worth-over-19-million-seized-from-semi-truck-hauling-cucumbers-and-jalapenos\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Mixed narcotics&#8217; worth over $19 million seized from semi truck hauling cucumbers and jalapenos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_84\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seized over a ton of illegal drugs from a shipment of produce passing through a Texas cargo facility this week.<\/p>\n<p>The drug seizure took place on February 4 at the Pharr International Bridge cargo facility located in Pharr, Texas.<\/p>\n<p>A tractor trailer with a load manifested as cucumbers and jalapenos approached the facility from Mexico seeking entry into the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>The tractor trailer was selected for additional screening using non-intrusive inspection equipment and a canine unit.<\/p>\n<p>A physical inspection of the vehicle uncovered 26 packages of alleged heroin weighing 7.53 pounds and 8,206 packages of alleged methamphetamine with a total weight of 2,217.85 pounds concealed within\u00a0the shipment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>CBP estimates that officers seized $19,800,000 in methamphetamine and $144,500 in heroin.<\/p>\n<p>CBP seized the narcotics and tractor trailer.<\/p>\n<p>The case was handed over to Homeland Security Investigations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur CBP officers don\u2019t skip a beat when it comes to securing our border.
