CHP \u2013 Solano<\/strong><\/a> took to social media to make an example out of a speeding semi truck driver.<\/p>\n\u201cEarlier today, Officer Tyhurst was utilizing a LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) device and monitoring traffic for speed violations. His attention was drawn to a big rig driving at a speed well above the limit allowed for a vehicle with 3 or more axles (55 mph). The officer obtained a speed of 81 mph on the big rig and made an enforcement stop. Needless to say, this driver was cited for his actions,\u201d troopers said.<\/p>\n
In California, \u201cNo person may drive any of the following vehicles on a highway at a speed in excess of 55 miles per hour: (a) A motortruck or truck tractor having three or more axles or any motortruck or truck tractor drawing any other vehicle.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe would like to remind you that speeding increases the risk of crashing and can have deadly consequences.
