Tesla has plans for a full-scale public electric semi truck charging station in the Los Angeles area.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Tesla\u2019s first electric semi truck charging station, also known as Megacharger, was built just outside of Gigafactory Nevada, and is only available for use by its internal fleet of electric semi trucks. Now, the company is looking to build a public version of the station at 19300 S Hamilton Ave, near the city of Carson, California.<\/p>\n
According to Elektrek<\/a>, the plans for the charging truck stop<\/a> feature 12 stalls with Megachargers for electric tractor trailers, as well as \u201ca 1,600 sqft. amenity building with a lounge, vending machines, restrooms, and parking for staff.\u201d<\/p>\n Tesla says that this sort of charging station would allow an electric semi truck to charge its battery to 70% in 30 minutes.\u00a0<\/p>\n The company has once again predicted a future date for the full scale production of its semi truck \u2013 a start to production by the end of 2025 and full-scale production in 2026 \u2013 but no estimated date of opening for the public charging facility has been released.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
