A diesel repair shop and its owner were indicted by a federal grand jury this week on charges related to violations of the Clean Air Act.<\/p>\n
On February 19, Roy Ladell Weaver, 41, of Jonestown, Pennsylvania, and his company Pro Diesel Werks, LLC, were indicted for conspiracy to impede the lawful functions of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)\u00a0and to violate the Clean Air Act, and individual violations of the Clean Air Act, according to the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania<\/a>.<\/p>\n Officials say that between between 2013 and March 12, 2024, Weaver worked with multiple co-conspirators to \u201cdelete\u201d or disable the hardware emissions control systems on the diesel vehicles of Pro Diesel Werks customers, and to \u201ctune\u201d or tamper with the emissions diagnostic systems on the vehicles to prevent the diagnostic system software from monitoring the emission control system hardware deletes.<\/p>\n If convicted, the maximum sentence is nine years in prison, term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine.<\/p>\n The case was investigated by the EPA\u2019s Criminal Investigations Division.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
