The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance\u2019s (CVSA) has released information on the upcoming International Roadcheck\u00a0inspection and enforcement campaign.<\/p>\n
The CVSA\u2019s Roadcheck inspection effort will take place May 13 through May 15, 2025.<\/p>\n During Roadcheck, law enforcement agencies throughout Canada, Mexico, and the United States will inspect commercial motor vehicles and drivers at weigh\/inspection stations, temporary sites, and on mobile patrols.<\/p>\n Drivers or vehicles found with critical violations will be placed out-of-service. A vehicle that successfully passes a Level I or Level V inspection may receive a CVSA decal<\/a>, which is valid for up to three months.<\/p>\n Most commercial vehicles will receive a North American Standard Level I Inspection during Roadcheck 2025.<\/p>\n The CVSA outlined two areas of emphasis for the Roadcheck blitz this year in a February 26 press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n The driver focus area will be on hours-of-service (HOS) compliance.<\/strong> HOS violations could include failure to record, complete, or retain the log, or knowingly falsifying logs or other related reports.<\/p>\n During the driver portion of the inspection, inspectors will check the driver\u2019s documents, license or commercial driver\u2019s license, medical examiner\u2019s certificate and skill performance certificate (if applicable), record of duty status,\u00a0Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse<\/a>\u00a0status (in the U.S.), seat belt usage, and alcohol and\/or drug impairment.<\/p>\n The vehicle focus area will be on\u00a0tire maintenance this year. <\/strong><\/p>\n During the vehicle portion of the inspection, inspectors will check tires\u2019 tread depth and proper inflation. Inspectors will be looking for tire damage, such as air leaks, tread separation, cuts, bulges, sidewall damage, and improper repairs.<\/p>\n CVSA International Roadcheck is the largest targeted enforcement program on commercial motor vehicles in the world, with nearly 15 trucks and motorcoaches inspected, on average, every minute across North America during a 72-hour period.<\/p>\n During Roadcheck 2024, 48,761 commercial vehicle inspections\u00a0were conducted in 72 hours throughout North America.<\/p>\n See below for other planned CVSA campaigns for 2025.<\/p>\n Operation Safe Driver Week is scheduled for July 13 \u2014 19, 2025 in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada<\/strong>.<\/p>\n During\u00a0Operation Safe Driver Week<\/a>, law enforcement personnel will be on the lookout for commercial motor vehicle drivers and passenger vehicle drivers engaging in risky driving. Identified unsafe drivers will be pulled over and issued a citation or warning.<\/p>\n CVSA\u2019s Operation Airbrake Program will hold two annual brake safety campaigns in 2025:<\/p>\n Brake Safety Week is scheduled for August 24 \u2014 30, 2025 in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.<\/strong><\/p>\n There will be an unannounced one-day brake safety enforcement initiative, which may be held at any time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n During both the\u00a0announced and unannounced brake safety enforcement campaigns<\/a>, commercial motor vehicle inspectors conduct brake system inspections (primarily\u00a0Level IV Inspections<\/a>) on large trucks and buses throughout North America to identify brake-system violations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/cdllife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/481015714_1075383597961488_6006776725508237532_n.jpg\")
