Schneider veteran here….
You could well be in luck….
I frequently see current job ads from Schneider — looking for drivers in the deep south, to add to their tanker fleet.
ALL CDL holders are normally qualified — regardless of experience level.
Later, you will need both the tanker & hazmat endorsements (if you don’t have them already) — but (if need be) Schneider will help you get them.
With this option — you could completely bypass pulling “boxes” altogether — & go straight into pulling tanker trailers. This will set you up for the experience needed to later pull high-paying tanker freight loads: fuel, cryogenics, etc.
Most likely — even with NO PREVIOUS CDL EXPERIENCE — Schneider will send you to one of their tanker training facilities (probably the one in Houston, TX).
You really shouldn’t have to do CDL school all over again.
KLLM is a good “starter” gig — but most of what I see from them of late…they want team drivers….&/or at least 6 months experience.
