I’ve spent most of my life in the service industry, and for the past two years, specifically in transportation. Day after day, I see drivers and Owner-Operators (O/Os) getting the short end of the stick due to careless and lazy dispatchers. The reality is, drivers are the quarterbacks of the industry and the economy—let’s face it. Driving is what drivers signed up to do, and many O/Os want to focus on the road, not the logistics.
Unfortunately, many O/Os are stuck with dispatchers who don’t provide clear ETAs for brokers or deliveries, fail to check in on drivers, and don’t consider the drivers’ personal lives. Dispatching should be an extension of the O/O’s business, working for the driver, not against them. Dispatchers need to communicate effectively and ensure drivers have all the information they need—when and where they’re going, details on broker interactions, and clear delivery schedules.
If an O/O wants to be home or take a vacation, the dispatcher should respect that and route the driver according to their wishes. Dispatching should remain small, focused, and aligned with the driver’s goals. That’s why I’m launching a new approach to dispatching—one that prioritizes service to O/O companies and works for the carrier, not the other way around.
I want to build a dispatching model that truly serves the driver. I know this might seem like common sense, but unfortunately, common sense isn’t always so common. Dispatching needs to shift from being a burden to being a true partner to O/Os who need help with logistics. I’m committed to making that change.
I started this new initiative in January 2025, and I’m starting fresh, offering a new, more personalized dispatching service. I’m looking to connect with O/Os who want to improve their dispatching experience. Even if you already have a dispatcher, I’d love to help you clarify your expectations and put you back in control of your business.
Let’s build a culture of partnership, not just service. If you’re interested in chatting, feel free to reach out.
Thanks!
