Ironically enough I have actually worked on a few older Westech vac units in the past.
What weight of oil are you running in that unit? It was -22 this morning when I woke up.
This truck have an AMT, Allison or a manual transmission? Could it be a PTO engagement issue and not a pump issue?
Bear with me, been a few years since I worked on a vac truck. I seem to recall they’re more or less a hydrostatic loop that supplies the blower drive motor. Can you post the pump, motor and valve info? Possibly some pictures?
As for test equipment for hydraulic systems its mostly gauges of various pressure ratings and lots of adapter fittings and test hoses to tee into lines. Flowmeters are handy for checking flow/pressure and loading up the pump/motor to check efficiency but they’re not cheap.
If you’re running a Westech unit I’d assume you’re near Leduc? I’ve dealt with Source Hose and Industrial in Nisku quite a bit in the past. They’d likely have most of what you’d need for gauges, pressure test quick connects, lines etc.
