So I have a 2016 Freightliner cascadia DD15 with about 800,000 miles . Last night I had my yellow and red stop engine lights turn on and my truck cut off immediately. I tried to crank it a couple times to get off on the exit and it would shut off in about 30 seconds .
Long story short I had the truck towed to a Freightliner dealer and they said the oil Stand pipe broke and there is no oil in the filter , now they need to inspect the bearings for damage. I take real good care of the truck and she has been running great . No oil or coolant lose and I change my oil every 15,000 miles.
Do you guys think my bearings are shot ? Just think it’s a little premature to have to drop the pan and check the bearings . I pulled over immediately to not cause any further damage . I checked the filters and No metal in oil filter either. crazy to think a $60 stand pipe can cause so much damage ♂️
They are refusing to replace the stand pipe without doing the bearing analysis.
