Whether it is common or uncommon, if someone doesn’t care enough at their life to find out about a job before they walk into it, I can’t fix their problem by caring about it more than they do. In my experience, most people spend like morons, and always will, and then blame their “poverty” on the boss who isn’t giving him 30% pay raise every year. Getting a company advance on your next paycheck will never fix your poverty. It will set you up for permanent “short paychecks”. I’ve seen people with the most excuses for not working also have the most complaints about the bad paychecks. If you don’t work you won’t eat.
The VAST MAJORITY of drivers coming onto this forum looking for work do not ask good questions and might as well just roll the dice to reach a decision. I have no sympathy for people that are this reckless. The trucking company or the govt isn’t your parent and you are not a child. Your results in life are up to you and your efforts. Nobody is going to protect you or guarantee you a good outcome. So you cannot just hope things work out.
Some people like to worry on behalf of other people. The “other people” don’t know you are worrying about them. It doesn’t help anyone. It’s virtue signaling.
