Told Dispatch I was feeling sick and they marked it as a load refuse. Is this legal?

I was assigned a load to pick up at 11 am today. I get there and the shipper tells me my appointment isn’t until 8 pm. Now it’s 4 pm and I told my dispatch I wasn’t feeling to well and I ant to give the load to someone else. They responded and said they’re marking it as a load refuse and I’ll have to contact Safety to get released once I’m feeling better. Is this fair that this has to go on my record as a load refuse because THEY messed up by telling me the wrong appointment time? I would…
