Truck drivers familiar with a truck parking lot along Interstate 40 in Tennessee say that the area will soon be shut down “due to trash.”

Truckers on Facebook and the CDLLife App say that the truck parking area on I-40 in Tennessee at mile marker 102 now features signs stating that the area will be “closing soon due to trash.” Electronic signs posted nearby have also reportedly shown the message “closing parking area soon due to trash.” Multiple drivers on both social media sites have commented to confirm that they have seen the signs as well.

“I saw that today! Can’t say I blame them. No excuse to throw out trash…” wrote one driver on the Facebook group Trucker Feed

“I passed it today. Still in operation but had orange LED boards saying they were shutting it down at 5 as of yesterday but it was still being used to not sure,” wrote another driver on the CDLLife App over the weekend.

CDLLife has reached out to the Tennessee Highway Patrol Public Information Officer, who respectfully declined to comment on the closure, and to Community Relations and Communications officials at the Tennessee Department of Transportation, who have not offered any information, insights, or comments on the closure as of 2:30 p.m. on November 19th.
